Characters

White crystalline powder. Soluble in ether, ethanol, chloroform, hot benzene and caustic soda solution, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ammonia and sodium bicarbonate solution. It is stable in the air, but it's indigo if mixed with ferric chloride solution. Melting point :83- 88 ℃, flash point: 163 ℃, density: 1.26 g/ ml.

Uses:

It is a dye intermediate used in the productions of pyrazolone, light yellow 5G, acid complex yellow GR, neutral dark yellow GL, hansa yellow G, pigment yellow G and so on, as the raw materials of carboxin in pesticidesa, also can be used in medicine, paints, pigments and organic synthesis.
