Characters

Colorless to white needle or slaty crystal or white crystalline powder with Odorless but sourness. Heat-stable. Easy soluble in fixed alkali solution, insoluble in water, 1g of the product dissolves in about 35mL ethanol and 5mL acetone. Dehydrogenation of saturated solution of pH is equal to 4. Melting point: 108- 111 ℃ (sublimation), boiling point: 269.9 ℃.

Uses:

It is a broad spectrum preservative, especially for mold and yeast.
